Atmospheric Music Curation for Yucatán Hospitality Group
For Tacombi, an iconic Mexican restaurant group born from a 1963 VW van on the beaches of Playa del Carmen, we developed a comprehensive, multi-genre music curation designed to elevate their hospitality experience across all locations.
Expanding from its coastal roots into major urban markets like New York, Chicago, and Miami, the brand needed an updated music strategy that honored its authentic Mexican origin while breathing new energy into its dining spaces.
Drawing on 14 years of nightlife and hospitality experience, we treated the venue’s soundscape as a foundational element of the guest journey, shifting music from a background detail to a key driver of atmospheric branding.

Approaching the soundscape like a well-crafted menu, we blended diverse musical ingredients to mirror Tacombi’s laid-back yet vibrant identity. We curated a 50-hour music library predominantly anchored in Mexican artists and Latin genres—including Latin soul, funk, rock, disco, house, reggaeton, and cumbia—interwoven with carefully selected indie grooves and timeless classics. To maintain an authentic yet dynamic atmosphere throughout the day, we established two distinct energy profiles: a lighter, breezy tone for daytime dining and a high-tempo, rhythm-forward feel for the evening. The result is a deeply atmospheric, cross-genre sonic identity that transports guests straight to the sands of the Yucatán coast.
